S.M.Kodres Photography

My name is Sarah Kodres-O'Brien, and I am from McLean, VA. I graduated from the University of Virginia in 2017 with a B.S. in Human Biology, and am part of the Georgetown University School of Medicine Class of 2023. My ultimate goal is to be a surgeon who brings my practices to third-world countries, but I have developed a passion for the art of photography as well. It has driven me to see things from a different perspective. When you are looking through a lens, everything changes. You can choose to focus on something or let it blur. You choose what is important. Photography has shown me the beauty in many things that are overlooked, and it has shown me that every single person is unique and wonderful.

I have been shooting professionally for 8 years, and have loved each new experience and genre. I've had over 400 clients, including some companies such as Horizon Industries as well as large organizations. For two years I was the official photographer of the International Relations Organization at UVA, and have also worked with a number of sororities and fraternities. Finally, in 2015, I shot my first wedding, and have not looked back since!

 

I have grown up traveling, and have been to 19 countries and counting! Some of my favorites include Lebanon, Thailand, and Peru. I have been unbelievably lucky in my upbringing. Each new place has shown me more and more hidden beauty, and broadened my views of the world. I hope to keep traveling and documenting, and working with people from all over the world.
